Shoreline Meditation

Get comfortable wherever you are seated.  Place your feet flat on the ground so that you feel your feet being firmly rooted and connected to the ground. Allow your eyes lids to gently meet each other in the middle as you close your eyes.

Imagine yourself on the beach of your choice.  Before stepping onto the sand, take your shoes off.  Imagine your feet firmly connecting to each grain of sand as you take each step, allowing the sand to hug your foot. As you take your step, allow your heel to touch the sand first and the sand gripping your heel, as the remaining parts of your feet touch the sand, feel the sand gripping each part while the sand grasps your arch and now each individual toe.

As you approach the shoreline of the ocean, look around and allow your inner being to find the perfect place to rest.  Once you find that spot, slowly lower yourself onto the sandy earth.  First planting your feet, then your butt, using your hands and arms for guidance.  Now slowly lower your lower back, now your upper back into the sand followed by your head.  Place your arms to your sides, slightly away from your body with your palm side of your hands touching the sand.  Allow your entire body to become one with the earth and though you are lying on a soft fluffy blanket.

Once settled, take a slow inhaling breath through your nose breathing in the clean salty sea air.  Holding the breath for a count of 3 then using your diaphragm to slowly push the air out through your nose.  Gently take in another breath repeating the same technique.

RELAX

Focus your entire body on the ocean waves connecting to the shoreline.  Allow all your senses to relax and accept the sweet beat of the waves connecting to the shoreline for a second.

I want you to take a deep breath in drawing the energy from the waves connecting to the shoreline into your body allowing the energy from the wave to travel up through your toes, then your feet, caressing your calves, up through your thighs, and drawing the energy all the way up to your chest.  Hold that energy for 3, and then exhale through your nose making a sound that mimics the sound of the water hitting the shoreline. (Repeat 2 times.)

READY< BREATHE

On our last breath, when I say breathe, I want you to inhale the energy from the waves as deep as you can, hold for 3, as you exhale, attach any worry, stress, or anxiety that you may have right now by balling it up and pushing it out with the exhaling breath.

READY< BREATHE

Once you finish, let your body set and connect to the calm feeling you have right now.  Lie there in the sand and hold onto that calm, peaceful feeling you have.

When you feel your body has connected to that calm or peaceful feeling, begin to mentally open your eyes and admire the beautiful blue sky filled with pretty fluffy clouds for a few seconds.  Allow a soft smile to come upon your face.

Then mentally come back into a sitting position on the sand, and take another look at the beautiful view before you. Smile as you take in the beauty you see before you.

When you are ready, physically open your eyes and reconnect with the present moment.

What feeling do you have after the meditation?
